David Waung, Executive Director, CEO dwaung@capam.org
David joined CAPAM in early 2008, bringing over thirty years of experience in the Canadian public service. Most recently, David was the Vice President and Registrar at the Canada School of Public Service. David’s extensive public service experience includes diverse experience in research and engineering, policy development and strategic planning, international policy and management leadership and curriculum development.
David is trained as an engineer, has earned a Master’s degree from the University of Toronto and an MBA degree from the University of Ottawa.

Ada Wong, Senior Manager, Partnerships and Publications, awong@capam.org
Ada brings significant experience in non-profit and association sector work in the areas of membership outreach, programme development, and communications. Ada has managed international research exchanges in the field of socio-cultural politics between Canada and Indonesia, United Kingdom, United States and several countries in Latin America.
Ada earned a Master’s degree in Political Science from the University of Toronto. She is currently completing her PhD dissertation at York University in the Department of Communications and Culture. Her current research is in the area of critical geopolitics and new media.

Joanne Hughes, Manager, Events & Sponsorships jhughes@capam.org
Joanne has proven achievements in event planning, grant writing and sponsorship procurement for the not for profit sector. Joanne utilizes innovative marketing strategies and partnership engagement to foster solid and effective working relationships with a variety of networks. Joanne initiated and led the Ottawa Lumière Festival, an event that fostered community building through the inclusion of diverse regional organizations and individuals.
Joanne earned a History degree from the University of Victoria with a focus on commonwealth countries and received a Shastri Indo Canadian scholarship to study the relationship between India and Canada through academic activities in India.

David comes to CAPAM from the African Public Policy Research Centre with vast experience in Policy Analysis, Research and Programme Development. His academic interest broadly encompasses interrogating the Role of the State in Development and International Development. Specifically, David’s interest focuses on Public Service Capacity Building and Management as well as Bureaucratic and Institutional Reforms. He has travelled extensively in Africa and North America.
David has a Masters Degree in Geography from York University, Toronto and a PhD from the University of Minnesota.
