Senior Public Executive Seminar, South Africa

CAPAM and the Commonwealth Secretariat have offered this Senior Public Executive Seminar since 1999. For several years, the programme has been offered in cooperation with the University of Cape Town in South Africa. The programme meets the current and emerging needs and priorities of senior public sector executives, so that they can provide effective leadership and management in the public sector.

Delivered over 5 days, the 2006 programme included: good governance and public sector management reforms, networked government and public sector reform, benchmarking public service management reforms, decentralizing public service management, issues of conduct and ethics, integrating performance management and accountability, strategic human resource management, competencies and professional development for leadership, citizen-centered service delivery, and improving the political-administrative interface.
