THE CONFERENCE GENERAL INFORMATION ACCOMMODATION SPEAKERS

2005 Managing Networked Government for Service Delivery, United Kingdom

Date: May 9, 2005

A joint programme of CAPAM and the International Development Department (IDD) of the School of Public Policy,
University of Birmingham. Participation was supported by the Commonwealth Fund for Technical Cooperation (CFTC) through the Commonwealth Secretariat.

This second annual seminar explored the realities of managing a networked government for service delivery. Participants examined in depth options for alternate providers of public services, who are increasingly recognised as having not only a legitimate but an important role in service delivery. Managing those relationships well is critical to success in service delivery in the 21st Century. Similarly, intergovernmental relations – managing central/local government relations, at both the state/provincial and national levels – is of growing importance.

This programme explored:

Consumer Surveys and Service Delivery
Creating the Service Quality Culture
Executive Agencies as a Service Delivery Option
Public-Private Partnerships for Service Delivery
