From 9-13 November, 2009 at the Administrative Staff College of India (ASCI), Hyderabad, India, CAPAM along with ASCI and the Government of India are holding an executive training programme entitled “Enhancing Leadership in Citizen Engagement & Service Delivery.”
Democratic governments exist to serve their citizens and administrations want to achieve high levels of citizen satisfaction in the delivery of public services. This is a challenging objective, given the broad and complex range of services provided by government organizations. Initiatives to improve service delivery require changes in approaches to strategic planning and management, collecting and analyzing information from citizens in a systematic way, measuring and evaluating service delivery and developing appropriate human resource management systems. These initiatives have spurred the development of new approaches to public sector management and encouraged governments to experiment with new forms of alternative service delivery and public-private partnerships.
