Public-Private Partnerships: Negotiating Relationships, Implementing Agreements and Managing RiskDecember 6 to 9, 2005. Arusha, Tanzania.Developed for SADC public sector officials and private sector partners, this four-day seminar covered the spectrum of partnership models and how to choose the best option for public service in a particular context. Sessions focussed on the challenges of public-private partnerships in African public services, and how to address them. Participants developed action plans, learned how to make a business case for PPP, and developed new skills including negotiating with private sector counterparts and performance-based contract management. The programme was offered in partnership with the Centre of Specialisation in Public Administration and Management (CESPAM), and with the cooperation of the Commonwealth Secretariat and the Government of Tanzania. A variety of practitioners presented their own experiences and provided lessons learned from case studies and other sources:
A report was made available in April 2006.
